I didn't run the offense around Andrew. ``I looked at the scorebook after the game and it said he scored 40 points and 16 rebounds. He just went to town. ``He's the kind of player you're going to watch in a game and say he didn't really have a great game, because he's not a flashy player. He's a blue-collar player. You watch and figure he scored about 20 points or so. Then he has 30 or so.'' Duncan's height is impressive. But he's not bulky, weighing just 165 pounds. That's the deceiving part. Many coaches don't realize that he makes up for that with his strength. ``His biggest fault is his weight, but he's strong,'' Stephens said. ``He just hasn't filled out, but he will. ``He can play inside or outside. You have to play good defense inside because he slithers to the basket. If you don't guard him outside, he'll put up a 3-pointer.'' Duncan's high school career hasn't been such a smooth ride. As a sophomore, he broke his right wrist - his shooting hand - in the first scrimmage of the season and missed the first part of the season. But by the time he was a junior, he reached his 6-6 height, played the entire season and averaged close to 24 points and 12 rebounds. In one game he scored a career-high 44 points. ``I didn't expect to do as well as I did my junior year,'' Duncan said. ``It just kind of happened. After the season I was shocked that it happened.'' Duncan may have been shocked, but people began to notice his performance and abilities. And then he said, `Some of the varsity guys want to get their hands on that Duncan kid.' '' Duncan laughed, and the Hart player asked him, ``Do you know who he is?'' Duncan, who said he doesn't like to draw attention to himself, said with a shy grin said, ``That's me.'' ``Everybody wishes they had a player like Andrew,'' Stephens said. Duncan had his choice to attend any of the other Santa Clarita public schools. But since his father moved the family from Chicago almost seven years ago to take the position of school administrator at SCC SCC - strongly connected component , it was a given that Duncan wouldn't attend any other school. ``The option (to attend another school) has always been there,'' Duncan said. ``I just never had the desire to go anywhere else.
