A Pearl of an idea.

PFM Packaging Machinery is launching an exciting new machine aimed at the food sector.

The machine, which has been appropriately named the Pearl, was designed for a particular customer and is now to be offered by PFM to others in the bakery, confectionery confectionery, delicacies or sweetmeats that have sugar as a principal ingredient, combined with coloring matter and flavoring and often with fruit or nuts. In the United States it is usually called candy, in Great Britain, sweets or boiled sweets.  and produce markets. Ideal for companies producing multiple size packs and for contract packers due to the machine's versatility, the new Pearl is highly flexible and comes with a host of advanced features. The term is often used with component software, where a wrapper is placed around a legacy routine to make it behave like an object.  produces a pillow-style pack in a variety of different sizes from a flat reel of heat sealable film.

Highly operator friendly, the ergonomically designed colour touch screen can be easily adjusted to change all the machine operating parameters. These include the sealing temperature of the film, the finseal rollers and the transverse To cross from side to side.  sealing crimpers, which can then be saved in the memory for subsequent recall.

A major advantage of the Pearl is that it automatically adjusts the bag length, print registration position, the crimping alignment and the wrapping speed to suit each application. The innovative film seal assembly includes three sets of rollers for film pulling, film sealing and film seal foldover. The Pearl has axis motion controller and brushless servomotors and each of the drive motors connects directly to the various assemblies.

The electrical panel is housed inside the machine frame and protected from damage in the event that packaging takes place in a wet environment. Using an elegant and rational design, the machine uses modular pre-assembled component units that can be easily accessed and replaced in the unlikely event of a machine failure.

Cleaning of the Pearl is simple thanks to the machine's cantilevered construction and the easy uncomplicated removal of guards. In addition the use of polymer moulded components with graceful grace·ful

With the ability to operate at up-to 120 cycles/minute and capable of wrapping a stream of different products in the food sector, the Pearl represents a major breakthrough for innovative PFM.

PFM's managing director Sergio Paracchi, said: "The development of the Pearl will enable PFM to meet the demands of the food industry, where flexibility and high quality product presentations are vital requirements."
