A PLAYER'S PRAYER.

LORD, make me a successful finisher of each pass.

If the opposition show hatred may I show love.

If the referee makes a wrong decision, may I show forgiveness.

If there is discord on or off the field help me to keep my temper.

If I make an error may I listen to the advice of my manager.

If I am in doubt may I have faith in my team mates.

If we face the despair of defeat, may I score the goal which brings hope.

If the manager and fans are in a dark mood may I bring them light.

And may there not be any sadness at the end, only pure joy.
