A NEW BEGINNING : AGOURA WRESTLERS BACK AT FULL STRENGTH THANKS TO FOOTBALL TEAM.

Byline: Danny Schumacher Daily News Staff Writer

Agoura High School Agoura High School is a four-year high school, freshman-senior, in Agoura Hills, California, United States. It is the largest high school in the Las Virgenes Unified School District, with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students.  wrestling wrestling, sport in which two unarmed opponents grapple with one another. And he can thank much of this year's success to senior Dylan Hall.

The Chargers were once a team that, although having some talented athletes, often fell short in matches because of lack of numbers - potential victories erased e·rase

Not only do the the Chargers now have a full squad for the first time since the 1980's, they also have some depth at several weight classes.

Agoura's newly strengthened squad has gotten off to a 6-4 start, including a respectable finish at the Quartz Hill tournament.

Hall was especially instrumental in helping improve his team's depth at the heavier weights from 160 pounds and up.

``This is the first year we'll have a full lineup A criminal investigation technique in which the police arrange a number of individuals in a row before a witness to a crime and ask the witness to identify which, if any, of the individuals committed the crime. ,'' Ritterbush said earlier in the season. ``Usually we're overstacked with lightweights and light up top. But he still enjoys having wrestlers at each weight class to coach.

``It's nice to field a full team,'' Ritterbush said. ``That's a big advantage. They do have some ability. It's just a matter of how fast they can learn some things.''

He does have the benefit of several veteran wrestlers, including Tony Walker (125 pounds), J.P. Cappalonga (152) and Hall (189 pounds).

And Hall hasn't left his contributions to the Agoura team to just recruiting. He has established himself as one of the best area wrestlers this year in his weight class.

As a sophomore and at the beginning of last year, Hall enjoyed moderate success. He lacked technique and he lost many matches because he would fail to overpower o·ver·pow·er

 opponents with strength alone.

However, Hall learned from his mistakes and at the end of last season he was winning more often than he lost.

This year he's even better. Hall is off to a 13-2 start, including an impressive 11 pins.

Ritterbush likes to compare the success that Hall is enjoying to that of Danny Gibbs. Last year Gibbs, who has graduated, developed into one of the best wrestlers in the area and was narrowly edged out for Daily News All-Area honors by Palmdale's Mike Cahoun.

``He's kind of doing what Danny did last year,'' Ritterbush said. ``At the start of last year he was just throwing his weight around. He started studying really well. Now he's using wrestling moves. He would use much more muscle than he needed to beat people. He really worked hard to develop a wrestling repertoire Repertoire may mean Repertory but may also refer to:

  • Repertoire Records, a German record label specialising in 1960s and 1970s pop and rock reissues
. In the past he would just try a move over and over again until he lost with it.''

Hall's learning rate by have been sped up with the help of Gibbs. He was Gibbs' main practice partner last year and this year he has moved into the departed star's weight class.

And now that he has helped bring more wrestlers out for the Agoura team, maybe the Chargers can others develop like he has.
