LANCASTER, Pa., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Maxwell Paper Products East

introduced a new name and identity today: MAX International Converters, Inc. (The MAX).
Gaining its independence from parent company Clampitt Paper Company of Texas, The MAX displayed a new image reflecting its truly international scope and innovative approach to small roll converting.
Laura Clampitt Douglas, chief executive officer of MAX International, stated, "This separation gives us the opportunity to move more aggressively into new, unique markets with superior products produced by customer-driven and skilled team members (employees)."
MAX International, with 48 team members, manufactures and sells a variety of roll products for business and scientific machines. The company's production and customer service functions are headquartered at 2360 Dairy Road in Lancaster. From this location, The MAX has served markets in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Far East since Aug. 1, 1974.
Michael A. Vigunas continues to serve the company as president and said, "We now have greater freedom to provide our customers unique solutions to their information flow needs. That's what it's all about, anyway -- information. Our job is to make it easier for the customer to get and give the most complete information possible. The more successful our customers are, the more successful The MAX will be." Vigunas has been a part of the management team for 15 years.
With an international reputation for outstanding customer service and creative approaches to information handling in value-added production and distribution, product lines from The MAX include: telecommunications and facsimile papers, specialty items from financial institutions such as ATM receipts and for point-of-sale installations such as cash registers, credit verification and other printer terminals.
The MAX has expanded its technical products group by instituting a tech support specialist function in the medical, security and scientific products area. The group will first concentrate exclusively on these high-tech product lines to provide original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and customer support for equipment and supplies.
Because of a commitment that coincides with the "recycling" of the company name, The MAX leads the industry with an innovative recycling program. The program provides incentives for customers to purchase products made from recycling materials.
With its news name, MAX International products sport a newly designed, international trademark. MAX brand products and the new MAX II line of recycled goods are known throughout the marketplace for quality and reliability under the Maxwell Paper Products East name.
Thomas L. Wenner, with the firm for 11 years, now serves The MAX as operations manager; H. James Sheetz joined the firm last year as administrative and finance manager, and Thomas Umenhofer, with the firm for eight years, is sales manager. Lance Hupfeld is the technical products director and has been with the firm for four years.
