They finished a creditable fifth - but could have achieved a higher placing. Mohawks opened with a match against Scottish Under- 14 League and cup winners Kirkcaldy Chiefs. The Scots went 2- 0 up inside three minutes and completed a 5- 0 win. Milton Keynes Storm, who just kept their place in South One League for season 2009/ 10, were the next opponents for Mohawks. A comfortable 10- 0 win for Whitley saw Harry Harley hit a hat- trick and Tom Keeley, Dale Sharp and Craig Thurston each bagbraces. The Barbarians, a team made up of Sheffield select players due to the tournament finding itself a team short, were next up for Whitley . The Mohawks went ahead through Sharp and Ben Richards, but the Barbarians were soon level - and two late goals gave them a 4-2 success. Whitley returned to winning ways with a 6-1 victory over Sheffield Sabres White, Harley (3), Ross, Thurston and Richards netting. The victory ensured they finished third in their group and would face the fourth- placed team from Group One in the next stage. To hand the Group Two teams the extra game, another match was played as a challenge game. Sheffield Sabres Black were the Mohawks' opponents, Bay triumphing 14-0 thanks to Sharp (4), Thurston (2), Richards (2), Keeley (2), Richards (2), Ross and Sean Bamling.
