A Motivational Tool That Works when Frustration Develops

Motivation is a powerful tool It helps us face the obligations and responsibilities of everyday living

Motivation is a powerful tool. It helps us face the obligations and responsibilities of everyday living. It propels us over, around and through the obstacles that life drops into our path, especially when feelings are an enemy. Our motivation comes from a variety of different sources. The goal is to find and use enough motivational triggers to move forward when the barriers surround us.

Where does your motivation come from? Family? Friends? Faith? All of us find it in different places. I believe that we need several incentives when the going is very tough. A variety of sources can prevent frustration and discouragement from tripping us when the car is broken down, sales are slow, the wife is mad, the kids won?t mind and the roof is leaking. More motivational triggers mean more opportunities to get back on track.

I love encouraging sayings. I have them taped all over my home business office. When I begin my work day, motivation is on every wall. Motivation to succeed with my online pursuits. Motivation to be a better husband. Motivation to be a better father. Motivation not to quit in the face of adversity. As I am working, I am constantly inspired to keep trying.

Does it work? When I am feeling discouraged (a lot or a little bit), I will sit back in my chair and glance around the room. Some days I only have to read one or two and I am back on track. Other days, I feel as though my motivational triggers are of no value. The point is that these sayings are there to constantly remind me to keep trying especially when my other triggers don?t seem to be doing the job.

I would suggest finding five or ten sayings that have special meaning for you. Write them on a piece of paper. Put them in a location that you frequent several times a day. I like to type mine into a word processor, print them out and hang them on the walls of my home business office. They remind me of what is important and why. Give it a try and see if they help you.

I would like to share five of my favorite (not in order of importance). Go ahead and use them for yourself. As I mentioned, they are a constant reminder to stay motivated:

1) ?You are not finished when you lose! You are finished when you quit!? ? Don?t give up no matter how difficult the obstacles have become.

2) ?One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, how much money I had in my bank account or what my clothes looked like. But the world may be a little better because I was important in the life of a child.? ? Consider putting the needs of others before yourself.

3) ?Focus my life, time, money and energy on what really matters.? - Keep your priorities in order.

4) ?Success is to laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children and to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.? - Enjoy your life because of the opportunities that surround you.

5) ?Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed.? ? Try to find a positive in the midst of the negatives.

I hope that you will find the encouragement in these sayings to stay motivated.
