 Superstation's original series, RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT!(R) premieres Wednesday, April 18, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) with fascinating stories from around the world, including a man who performed surgery on his own arm while alone at sea, and the world's strongest man.

RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT!(R), hosted by actor Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Adventures of Superman may refer to the following works featuring Superman:

Other highlights from the April 18th premiere episode include:

      --  Backwards Biker: Champion motorcross rider, Roger Riddell will
        compete with other professional riders in a motorcross race
        while riding his motorcycle backwards.

      --  Hand Skier: Recognized for turning barefoot water skiing into
        a sophisticated sport, expert water skier Michael Seipel will
        water ski on his hands while a beautiful woman sits on his
        back.

      --  Log Riders: Held once every 7 years, the Onbashira Festival of
        the Suwa Grand Shrine in Nagano Japan is an event in which
        huge trees weighing up to 12 or 13 tons are sent sliding down
        a steep hill while people try to ride on top of them. Many
        people have been injured and killed.

      --  Pop Eye: John Shaw can inhale an unpopped popcorn kernel up
        his nose, through his sinus cavity and then release it out
        from under his eyeball.


When RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT!(R) premiered on Jan. 12, 2000 it earned a 3.3 rating and delivered a record-breaking 2.6 million households, basic cable's largest household audience ever for an original series premiere. Now in its second season, the series is basic cable's top original series season to date among adults 18-49 (1,188,000) and adults 25-54 (1,112,000), as well as among the Superstation's targeted male demos, men 18-49 (657,000) and men 25-54 (611,000)(a).

RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT!(R) is produced by Columbia TriStar Television Columbia TriStar Television, Inc. was the third name of the television studio Screen Gems, adopted with the Columbia-TriStar merger of 1991 and last used in 2002.

Columbia TriStar Television was launched in 1994 as a joint venture between Columbia Pictures Television and
 Distribution, with Erik Nelson and Dan Jbara serving as co-executive producers. The series is produced in association with Dean Cain's production company, Angry Dragon Entertainment and Nelson's Termite termite or white ant, common name for a soft-bodied social insect of the order Isoptera.
