A MINOR ROLE FOR CHARLIE.

CHARLIE Mulgrew has been appointed as the new Donegal minor team manager for next season.

It's a move which comes just 12 months after he lost out on the senior job in controversial circumstances CIRCUMSTANCES, evidence. The particulars which accompany a fact.

After an appalling mess created by the county executive, Mulgrew and Declan Bonner were told they'd got the job but John Joe Doherty Joe Doherty (b. 20 January 1955 in Belfast, Northern Ireland) is a former volunteer in the Belfast Brigade of the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) who escaped during his 1981 trial for killing a member of the Special Air Service (SAS) in 1980.  was eventually appointed as successor to Brian McIver.

Mulgrew and Bonner were treated badly, with the latter vowing never to get involved with a Donegal team again while certain senior officers remained on the executive.

However Mulgrew, who led Fermanagh to an All-Ireland semi-final in '04, has admirably ad·mi·ra·ble

Mulgrew will be assisted by fellow 1992 All-Ireland winner Matt Gallagher, John McEniff (Bundoran) and Eoin Bonner (Naomh Mhuire).

"John was involved with the southern board and he asked me during the summer if I would be keen to get involved and I said I would," explained the Letterkenny man.

"I then asked Matt and Eoin to join us and together we put a package to the county board which they accepted.

"I know all the lads from underage football, having been involved with St Eunan's underage teams, so we're looking forward to getting started.

"We had our first meeting yesterday (Tues) and we'll have a few trials at O ' D onnell Park (in Letterkenny) on Sunday week."
