A Long Way to Go For Fixed Mobile Convergence in China.

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c44835) has announced the addition of In-Depth Analysis: FMC See fixed mobile convergence.  in China: A Long Way to Go to their offering.

FMC (Fixed Mobile Convergence Seamless switching between cellular and local networks for mobile users. The goal is to have a handset that switches automatically from the cellular network to the local, wireless Wi-Fi network when entering a building in order to save cellphone minutes. ) has become one of the hottest topics in telecommunications. We believe that FMC is viewed as an efficient way to provide a unified architecture and end-user devices with multi-service capabilities. The convergent systems can provide voice, data, or multimedia services for and between any set of wireline and wireless end-users. In this report, we describe the roadmap of FMC in China, and provides subscriber forecasts (2006-2010) on FMC service.

The report also provides clear definitions and classifications of FMC and divides the whole process of FMC into three phases: dual-mode end device convergence, IP/MPLS IP/MPLS Internet Protocol/Multi-Protocol Label Switching  backbone network A backbone network provides a path for the exchange of information between different LANs or subnetworks.[1] A backbone can tie together diverse networks in the same building, in different buildings in a campus environment, or over wide areas.  convergence, and IMS-based convergence. In addition, the benefits to service providers and end-users from FMC, and the multiple challenges that service providers face in evolving to the new system are outlined, providing perspectives and strategies of the four leading China service providers (China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom China Unicom, full name China United Telecommunications Corporation, 中国联通, HKSE: 0762 NYSE: CHU, is a telecommunication operator in the People's Republic of China. 52. , and China Netcom China Netcom, full name China Netcom Group Corporation (Hong Kong) Limited, abbreviated CNC, was originally formed in August 1999 by the People's Republic of China government to enable inward investments to build high speed Internet communications in the country. ), with respect to FMC.
