A Lipton's brew debut ... new ready-to-drink tea launched; Sports personalities Bob Uecker, Bubba Smith and Dick Butkus to star in "Brew Crew".


SOMERS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 1996--The Pepsi-Lipton Tea Partnership today announced that it has re-launched the company's popular ready-to-drink iced tea, Lipton Original, as "Lipton's Brew."

The new name communicates that Lipton's Brew is "true-brewed" in small batches, hand-crafted, made from the finest Lipton tea leaves, and uses pure water and natural flavors.

National re-launch efforts include new packaging graphics, elevated real-tea taste, and three new flavors New Flavors - An object-oriented Lisp from Symbolics, the successor to Flavors, it led to CLOS.

    The spot showcases the extraordinary comedic talents of Uecker, Smith and Butkus, as the three "who know brew best" introduce new Lipton's Brew to the country. In addition to the "Brew Crew" television commercial, the "Crew" is scheduled to star in several upcoming national radio spots.

    Building the Perfect Ready-to-Drink Tea
