A LOOK IN.

We're on the verge of another revolution; this time it's the knowledge revolution, and it's moving more quickly than some of us may have expected. Seems suddenly we are receiving messages from so many sources that it's difficult to sort out which we really find of value in our everyday lives.

I'm curious to know how this is affecting you -- do you read every fax that crosses your desk? And how about all that e-mail? How many of you go in and delete before even opening those pitches for everything from sex to making a billion dollars overnight while sleeping? How do you sort out what's of value to you from all those "spam" messages? (The recent computer viruses have done their part in making us wary of opening just any message, no matter how enticing the message title. I never knew so many people "LOVED" me until that bug hit!)

But things are definitely changing in the way knowledge is delivered. IABC is investing in technology in a big way to bring you faster, more efficient and targeted information, and it's not based on print. It's on technology. This new knowledge-based technology will serve not only you, but the entire profession. It will even go beyond us "communicators" and to other related areas where effective communication can make or break an organization, whether it be bricks and mortar, or a dot-com.

All this is exciting, and we're surely adapting. And even though rumors of the demise of print still run rampant, are you sure you're ready to give up the majority of print you receive for online presentation of information? We'd like to know. It could affect how IABC, and Communication World, communicates from now on.
