Cody Kempt, 6-2, 193, Westview High School, Beaverton - `Came on and had an unbelievable senior year. ... Transformed himself in our eyes from a good quarterback to a great quarterback,' Bellotti said. ... Named an all-American by PrepStar, which considers him one of top seven QBs on the West Coast.

Justin Roper, 6-6, 200, Buford (Ga.) High School - `Very accurate passer (with a) high release point. Played primarily in a running offense. ... Didn't play a lot in second halves because they won games by halftime,' Bellotti said. ... Threw for 1,423 yards and 18 touchdowns last fall.

Running backs

Remene Alston, 5-9, 180, Page High School, Greensboro, N.C. - `Has finishing speed. Really excited about him. He reminds me a lot of (current Duck) Jeremiah Johnson in terms of ability to stop, start and make people miss,' Bellotti said. ... State player of the year ran for 2,133 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior.

Andre Crenshaw, 5-10, 188, Antelope Valley High School, Lancaster, Calif. - `If you watch his highlight film, there's part of it where he played running back, part of it where he played wide receiver and another part where he played defensive back. Every single (UO) coach that watched him said, `He can play for us,' ' Bellotti said. ... Had 1,226 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior, and could end up at running back for the Ducks.

Receivers

Antwaun Harris, 5-11, 190, South Garland High School, Garland, Texas - Had 17 receptions for 149 yards as true freshman at BYU in 2004 before moving to Richland Community College in Dallas, Texas. ... Did not play football last fall at Richland. ... Admission to Oregon contingent on Harris receiving his associate's degree from Richland.

Derrick Jones, 6-1, 186, Long Beach Poly High School, Gardena, Calif. - `Hopefully he'll be in school this spring (as) that will be an added plus. One of the fastest receivers in the nation and also a great participant for our track program,' Bellotti said. ... Originally a USC signee in 2004 who didn't qualify, then signed with Ducks last year but again didn't qualify.

Tight ends

Brandon Bair, 6-7, 238, South Fremont High School, St. Anthony, Idaho - `He should be in school in spring. He's a line-of-scrimmage tight end we're losing in Tim Day. We certainly expect him to step in and help. We need to get him ready to go,' Bellotti said.

Offensive linemen

Jordan Holmes, 6-4, 276, Yuba City (Calif.) High School - `Probably start him at center, can play guard. ... Tremendous athlete who is a great wrestler and played both ways (in football),' Bellotti said. ... Two-way lineman was picked as team's MVP two years in a row.

C.E. Kaiser, 6-4, 259, Central Valley High School, Veradale, Wash. - `Great athlete. ... Going to be a very good player,' Bellotti said. ... Honorable mention all-state pick ranks among Washington's top 25 prospects according to Rivals.com. ... Key blocker in run-oriented offense, he may begin at center for Oregon.

Pat So'oalo, 6-5, 340, Fresno (Calif.) City College/Kailua High School, Kaneohe, Hawaii - `Is in school already. ... Probably the most talented offensive lineman we signed a couple years ago,' Bellotti said. ... Finally joins the Ducks after signing letters of intent both as a high school senior and last year out of junior college.

Bo Thran, 6-6, 260, Barlow High School, Gresham - `I think the best football player in the state of Oregon. ... Could play any position in the offensive line,' Bellotti said. ... Was a first-team all-state player.

Fenuki Tupou, 6-6, 324, Sierra College, Rocklin, Calif./Center High School, Elverta, Calif. - `An all-American, and I don't worry about those titles very much, but Fenuki can run and is 6-6 and 324. He's also in school,' Bellotti said. ... Honorable mention JC all-American.

Defensive linemen

Jeremy Gibbs, 6-2, 280, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M/Stillwater (Okla.) High School - `He is much along the lines of guys we've had in the past who played with great pad level, have great hand quickness,' Bellotti said. ... First-team JC all-American joins teammate Micah Howeth in signing with the Ducks on Wednesday.

Micah Howeth, 6-3, 245, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M/White High School, Dallas, Texas - `He had a knee injury and didn't play the second half of (the 2005) season. He will be a fast, active player. ... Very mobile, very quick,' Bellotti said. ... Originally signed with the Ducks in 2004 out of high school before enrolling in junior college.

Dexter Manley II, 6-2, 266, Santa Monica (Calif.) College/Fayette County High School, Fayetteville, Ga. - `Dexter has probably the greatest upside of maybe anybody on defense. ... He's an outstanding athlete for his size. Certainly he needs more experience and he'll have to learn some things,' Bellotti said. ... Has played just three years of football since taking up the sport as a high school senior.

Defensive backs

Jameel Dowling, 6-2, 179, Butte College, Oroville, Calif./Mount Tahoma High School, Tacoma - `Can play either safety or corner. He gives us great versatility,' Bellotti said. ... Junior college transfer signed with Oregon in December and moved to Eugene on Tuesday. ... Said Wednesday that he was signed as a cornerback but also has experience at free safety.

Matthew Harper, 6-0, 177, City College of San Francisco/Logan High School, Tracy, Calif. - `Tremendous athlete ... who has potential to play either corner or safety. ... Gives us great versatility a lot like a Patrick Chung-type athlete,' Bellotti said. ... Honorable mention JC all-American had 95 tackles and seven interceptions last fall.

Marvin Johnson, 5-10, 188, Dominguez High School, Compton, Calif. - `Helped lead his team to the section championship by playing both quarterback and safety. I watched one film on Marvin, and he made the first 17 tackles in the game. I said, I think he can play,' Bellotti said. ... Considered the No. 26 safety prospect nationally by Rivals.com.

Devin Mays, 5-10, 161, Central Valley High School, Stockton, Calif. - `One of the fastest athletes. ... Tremendous speed,' Bellotti said. ... Two-way player had three interceptions as a senior, while also playing at receiver and running back.

Chad Peppars, 5-10, 178, Loyola High School, Los Angeles - `Also led his team to the section championship. We're primarily looking at him as a corner,' Bellotti said. ... Two-way threat is a top cover corner who also ran for more than 1,000 yards as a senior.

Spencer Paysinger, 6-3, 210, Beverly Hills (Calif.) High School - `We'll probably play him on the defensive side but could play wide receiver. ... I felt he was one of the outstanding defensive players we saw on film this year,' Bellotti said.
