Lit.: Malory Le Mort d’Arthur] See : Disguise Elaine KEOGH A DOG facing being put down last year is now set to appear in the world famous Crufts dog show after becoming an Irish champion. Bouncer was set to be sent to the dog pound where he could have faced a lethal injection. The Bullmastiff's owners were emigrating from Neilstown in Dublin to Australia so couldn't bring him with them. Just three days before they were due to fly out, a family from Drogheda, Co Louth, offered him a home. New owner Paul Briscoe said he got a call from a friend who knew he bred Bullmastiffs. He added: "I knew as soon as I saw him he was a special dog. Nobody else wanted him. These are large dogs and he was 20 months old at the time." The most important factor for Paul and his wife Aisling was that "he is very good with our two young children". Aisling said: "He is not just a family dog though. He has to be able to go into the ring at shows and not be afraid." Paul invested time, specially prepared feeds and lots of training into Bouncer.
