A LA CARTE : SEARCHING FOR LOBSTER.

It seems like only yesterday when an upstart chain of dinner houses called Hungry Tiger began transporting live Maine lobsters on Flying Tiger (its owner) planes to Los Angeles.

The Hungry Tiger is long gone. But a hunger for the taste of lobsters from Maine, Australia or anywhere remains.

Here are a few restaurants with lobster dishes worth consideration:

AB Seafood

Address: 18434 Devonshire St., Northridge.

Cuisine: Chinese.

Dishes: Live Maine lobster out of the tank on the premises can be had deep-fried, steamed or stir-fried with varied sauces and/or accompaniments.

Price information: Current price is $9.95 per pound.

Benvenuti

Address: 16911 Ventura Blvd., Encino.

Cuisine: Italian.
