A LA CARTE : MOTHER'S DAY DINING.

Lots of possibilities for the biggest dining-out day of the year, most of them for brunch meals, both sit-down and buffet styles.

With only 10 days to go, better get those reservations in fast.

Here are a few local restaurants worth consideration:

Antonio's

Cuisine: Mexican.

Menu information: In addition to the regular menu specials are a beef tamales entree and zucchinis stuffed with chicken.

Price: Tamales ($12.75), zucchinis ($11.75).

Miscellaneous: Moms dining at Antonio's between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. will receive margaritas and fresh flowers with their meal.

Bistro Garden

Address: 12950 Ventura Blvd., Studio City.

Cuisine: American/continental.

Menu information: Three-course prix-fixe brunch with coffee has a choice of four appetizers, eight entrees and four desserts. And there's also a three-course dinner.

Price: Brunch: $32, dinner: $48.

Cafe Sierra

Menu information: Champagne buffet brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. includes dim sum dim sum

Cuisine: Carib-Californian.

Menu information: Brunch buffet (salmon, swordfish swordfish, large food and game fish, Xiphias gladius, of the warmer Atlantic and Pacific waters, related to the sailfish. It is named for its sharp, broad, elongated upper jaw, which it uses to flail and pierce its prey of smaller fish, rising beneath a school , chicken, eggs Benedict, shrimp and curried beef salads, pasta, eggs, plantains, black beans) and specials for dinner (paella, pecan chicken, rack of ribs).

Price: Brunch, $20 (children under 9, $10), dinner at a la carte varying prices.

Miscellaneous: Magician noon to 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Complimentary chocolate-dipped strawberries.

Crustacean crustacean (krŭstā`shən), primarily aquatic arthropod of the subphylum Crustacea. Most of the 44,000 crustacean species are marine, but there are many freshwater forms.

Menu information: Three-course prix-fixe brunch includes choice of starters (fruit with yogurt sauce, french toast, gazpacho, clam chowder chowder, stew of fish or shellfish with potatoes, onions, and pork (usually salt pork), thickened with crumbled hard bread. The name chowder seems to have originated from the French word chaudière  or raw oysters raw oysters

Miscellaneous: Same dinner available May 9. Regular dinner menu available both days.

Steak Joynt

Cuisine: American.

Menu information: Special three-course prix-fixe meal served all day is a petite Joynt salad with choice of dressing, a 6-ounce filet mignon with vegetables and potato or fries or onion rings and choice of four desserts.

Woodside

Cuisine: Contemporary American.

Menu information: Dinner only. Specials include red and gold tomato tart with goat cheese sauce, mushroom-crusted halibut halibut: see flatfish.
