, scary types will be invading numerous restaurants on or around Oct. 31, ironically the day that Daylight Saving Time daylight saving time (DST), time observed when clocks and other timepieces are set ahead so that the sun will rise and set later in the day as measured by civil time.  ends, and they'll undoubtedly be digging into a pumpkin dish or two.

What: Special prix-fixe dinner.

Food information: Three-course dinner begins with squash risotto and pan-seared foie gras. Main course is whole roasted papaya papaya (pəpī`ə), soft-stemmed tree (Carica papaya) of tropical America resembling a palm with a crown of palmately lobed leaves.  filled with minced beef and five-spice papaya ``jus.'' Dessert is apricot tart on apple-saffron compote.

Stinking Rose

Cuisine: Garlic-laden Italian.

What: The usual year-round environment here happens to provide the perfect atmosphere choice for Halloween dining, especially the area dubbed Dracula's Grotto.

Food information: The signature 40-clove garlic chicken dish with garlic mashed potatoes should keep any vampires at bay, also friends and relatives.
