Father's Day has a long way to go to catch up with Mother's Day, at least as far as restaurants go. But many eating spots do offer Father's Day fare worth consideration:

Comments: Newly renovated and enlarged, the new dining room features a spectacular glass atrium ceiling.

Comments: Honoring fathers is an old Chinese custom. Madame Wu also conducts a drawing for a Peking duck dinner for four, to be won by a lucky customer.

Picks: Dinner menu served from 3 p.m. includes ginger beef, chicken with black and white mushrooms, steamed whole fish and lobster with pea pods, mushrooms and green vegetables. Also available are three complete dinners and special low-calorie plates.

Comments: Fathers dining with their families eat free brunch on Father's Day. Yussi & Django guitar duo with bass and percussion backing will entertain.

Picks: New ``Sunday Brunch Unplugged'' is being introduced Sunday. Buffet ($12.95) from noon to 3 p.m. offers variety of omelettes, chicken crepes with fresh mushrooms gratin gra·tin

Picks: Outdoor grilled items on the buffet include barbecued chicken breast, baby back ribs, ham, turkey burgers and seafood kebabs. Also prime rib, smoked salmon, sushi sashimi, pastas, waffles, omelettes, salads and a variety of desserts. Price: $39 (children under 12, $19).

Cuisine: Country French.

Comments: This is the 68th year in business for Taix. The special menu is available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Picks: Complete dinners (several options) include a tureen of soup, a house green salad and a sherbet sher·bet

Comments: This is the revolving restaurant on the building's 23rd floor offering a panoramic view (smog permitting) of Hollywood.

Picks: The buffet brunch ($19.95; children under 12, $9.95; seniors, $18.95) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. includes appetizers, assorted salads, smoked salmon, marinated herring, carving stations (roast turkey, ham, beef), the fish of the day, omelettes, dessert selection, fresh fruits, juice, coffee. Tott's bubbly is $4.95 a bottle.
