A LA CARTE : BASTILLE DAY.
Once again, it's that time of year to storm local French restaurants that might be busy celebrating Bastille Day.
It falls this year on Monday, normally a slow - or closed - restaurant day. So most places either put on the dog, or forget the celebration altogether.
Here are a few restaurants that will definitely be doing something worth consideration:

Menu: Family-style prix-fixe dinner. One seating at 6 p.m. Chilled soup at arrival. Platters of food delivered to tables include salads, leg of lamb with flageolets, grilled sausages, chicken provencal, quiches, grilled vegetables, pommes frites. Dessert buffet.
Price: $35 (includes all wines and beers, food, tax and tip).
Miscellaneous: Festive decorations. Live jazz band. Casual attire welcome.
Cafe St. Michel

Menu: Three-course, prix-fixe dinner. Appetizers, entrees and desserts from regular menu or from list of specials du jour.

Menu: Four-course prix-fixe dinner begins with chestnut and morel mushroom soup followed by a lobster salad with a white truffle vinaigrette and tricolor flag vegetables. Entree is a choice of filet of beef with Roquefort cheese and black peppercorn sauce, wild mushroom-stuffed chicken breast or tournedo of salmon with a cabernet and shallot sauce boosted with chervil and tarragon. Dessert is La Bastille hazelnut and vanilla ice cream tower with a mixed berry sauce.

Le Petit Bistro
