A LA CARTE\HOTEL PACKAGES FOR VALENTINE'S DAY.

Several Southern California hotels are offering packages for loving couples who don't want their Valentine's Day to end with dessert. Here are a few of the getaway hotel deals worth consideration:

Restaurant Pangaea.

Menu The four-course meal starts with a glass of champagne, an amuse bouche, mache and ginger-cured salmon salad with caviar dressing or baby haricot vert salad with polenta-gorgonzola croutons. Asparagus soup en croute is also available. Entrees are duckling duckling

Menu Five-course dinner with half bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne and Calera pinot noir consists of sesame-seared ahi tuna, a grilled portabello salad, glazed filet of seabass with buttered hominy hominy [Algonquian], hulled corn with the germ removed and served either ground or whole. The pioneers in North America prepared it by soaking the kernels in weak wood lye until the hulls floated to the top. Hominy is boiled until tender and served as a vegetable. , roasted spiced veal chop with sticky red rice and "hearts of fire" dessert.

Package: One-night stay between Friday and Feb. 19 includes a bubble bath, long-stemmed rose on the pillow, complimentary valet parking, room-served breakfast for two with mimosas (champagne and orange juice).

Price: Dinner is $150 per couple. (An alternative four-course dinner for $45 per person may be reserved in the hotel's 's American Cafe.) Overnight stay is $229 for the deluxe and $399 for the executive suite.

Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel

Menu Special menus in both restaurants. Grilled prime aged meats, fresh seafood and pastas with a 200-label wine list in the Grill. Light fare in the Terrace.

Package: Available only on Valentine's Day is the overnight stay deal in a deluxe room featuring a marble bathroom and terry bathrobes.

Price: $175 (does not include dinner).

Extras: A dozen red roses, unlimited access to the fitness center, valet parking.

Summit Hotels

Restaurants Cafe Rodeo and Cafe Bel-Air.
