Several Southern California hotels are offering packages for loving couples who don't want their Valentine's Day to end with dessert. Here are a few of the getaway hotel deals worth consideration:

Restaurant Pangaea.

Menu The four-course meal starts with a glass of champagne, an amuse bouche, mache and ginger-cured salmon salad with caviar dressing or baby haricot vert salad with polenta-gorgonzola croutons. Asparagus soup en croute is also available. Entrees are duckling with pink peppercorn cognac sauce and a sweet potato and mushroom casserole, roast veal crepinette with Calvados mushroom sauce and whole Dover sole meuniere. Chocolate strawberry souffle is the dessert.

Package: Special Valentine's Day guest room rate.

Price: Dinner is $42 per person. Room is $175 for this night only.

Extras: Long-stemmed red rose and a gift with dinner. Paul Turner quintet and singer Miranda Lloyd in the Hana Lounge.

Loews Coronado Bay Resort

Menu Five-course dinner with half bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne and Calera pinot noir consists of sesame-seared ahi tuna, a grilled portabello salad, glazed filet of seabass with buttered hominy, roasted spiced veal chop with sticky red rice and "hearts of fire" dessert.

Package: One-night stay between Friday and Feb. 19 includes a bubble bath, long-stemmed rose on the pillow, complimentary valet parking, room-served breakfast for two with mimosas (champagne and orange juice).

Price: Dinner is $150 per couple. (An alternative four-course dinner for $45 per person may be reserved in the hotel's 's American Cafe.) Overnight stay is $229 for the deluxe and $399 for the executive suite.

Omni Los Angeles Hotel & Centre

Menu Four-course dinner begins with mixed greens or black bean soup, followed by angel hair with fresh tomato and basil. Entrees are grilled salmon fillets on mashed potatoes with red onion and yellow peppers or grilled free-range chicken breast with eggplant, tomato and basil. Dessert is chocolate cake or a light sorbet with tea or coffee.

Package: Overnight stay that includes above dinner for two and a bottle of champagne on arrival is available from Monday through Feb. 16 .

Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel

Package: Available only on Valentine's Day is the overnight stay deal in a deluxe room featuring a marble bathroom and terry bathrobes.

Summit Hotels

Restaurants Cafe Rodeo and Cafe Bel-Air.

Menu Cafe Rodeo has a special Valentine's Day dinner of baby mixed greens and smoked salmon, mushroom triangolini with basil coulis and pepper sauce, a seabass fillet in leek and shallot sauce or grilled lamb chops and a display of desserts.

Package: Good through February is the one-night stay at either hotel. The package includes champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries upon arrival and an American breakfast in bed.

Price: Room package is $169. Cafe Rodeo's Valentine's Day dinner on Wednesday is $32 per person (with 15 percent donated to the Beverly Hills CPR program).

Extras: Complimentary transportation between the two hotels for tennis, gym, heated pool use and Rodeo Drive shopping.
