 Ubu rises ... and inevitably falls.

Glendale's A Noise Within does excellent work with this rarely performed play, one of a cycle of works chronicling the adventures of Ubu. Director Julia Rodriguez Elliott infuses the production with funhouse- like absurdity. A larger-thanusual ensemble gamely plays along, and Alan Blumenfeld and Deborah Strang are grossly riotous as the oafish oaf
