The Lake Los Angeles Community Clinic at 16921 E. Ave. O, Space G, will initially be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 8 p.m., but Moore said health officials hope to expand services. The approximately 2,400-square foot clinic, which opened May 12, contains three examination rooms, one treatment and observation room and a laboratory. The clinic is a partnership between Antelope Valley Hospital and Los Angeles County, which runs High Desert Hospital. The hospital is paying for the lease of the building, while the county provides for the clinic's staff and supplies. ``Now with the hospital partnering and paying for the rent and the county doing their services, it's a marriage that makes it work for everyone, and the community benefits,'' said Gary Cothran, director of media relations at Antelope Valley Hospital. ``We're committed to having something nice the community can be proud of, and feel comfortable and safe and that they can take their families to.'' This is not the first time the county and the hospital have had a partnership. In January 1998, the two joined forces to start the Palmdale Primary Care Center, located at 1529 E. Palmdale Blvd. That clinic is now open seven days a week. Moore said the Palmdale clinic is about twice the size as the clinic in Lake Los Angeles. Both organizations are planning a third clinic in Littlerock. No date has been established for that clinic to open.
