Anyone who grew up with siblings siblings npl (formal) → frères et sœurs mpl (de mêmes parents)  can envision the potential problems with that scenario.

Most of the time, that is.

``It's only bad when he tries bossing me around,'' said Josh, West Valley's sophomore setter setter: see sporting dog.

Otherwise?

``Other than him bossing me around or constantly telling me to feed him the ball, it's fine,'' Josh said.

As one might imagine, Justin Bloomfield, a senior, looks at it a bit differently.

``It works out fine,'' Josh said. ``We get along really well on the court.''

All kidding - and arguing - aside, the Brothers Bloomfield are having a blast teaming up to help lead the West Valley Christian volleyball program. The Falcons have played the sport just three years, and success was nonexistent non·ex·is·tence

But with the Bloomfields, Daniel Mikusky, Ben Ishizuka and Brian LeGrande benefiting from first-year coach John Ullen's more focused approach, the Falcons are 8-0.

``It's a really great feeling to finally experience this kind of winning,'' Justin Bloomfield said. ``It wasn't a whole lot of fun around here the first two years, but it's definitely been enjoyable this year.''

Although Justin Bloomfield is constantly in his brother's ear about feeding him sets, Josh Bloomfield knows the importance of spreading the wealth around. That is one of the reasons West Valley has enjoyed its success this season.

``To me, I don't care

His brother respects that.

``To me, Josh is a great setter because he can make all the passes,'' Justin said. ``He's been playing really well so far, and that's a big reason why we've been winning.''

``They can both jump and they both have good instincts for the game,'' Ullen said. ``They aren't the biggest players around, but for whatever reason they play bigger and stronger than they are.''
