A FINAL FLOURISH; Season ends on high for Guisborough team.

TEES-BASED Hydrex Honda brought the curtain down on a glorious 2009 MCE British Superbike season with more team 'firsts'.

And star man Stuart Easton gave them a further boost by hinting he could remain with them in 2010.

Easton - who gave the Guisborough team its first ever BSB win at Croft last month - led them all home again in the first of the weekend's three races.

On top of that he secured his first ever BSB pole position and underlined his reputation as one of the hottest properties in the paddock and followed it up with another podium in race two.

However his other first of the weekend was an unwanted one - he crashed for the only time this season in the third race.

In his desperation to round off his season with another win, he skidded out to leave runaway champion Leon Camier to bag his 19th win of the season.

But even that could not take the gloss of a tremendous campaign for 26-year-old Scotsman who was quick to pour cold water on speculation that he will make the jump over to the World Superbikes next season.

"I'm pleased with how things have gone," said Easton, who finished the campaign in third place with 374 points.

"I got two wins and finished third overall and this weekend, up until that crash, was the strongest I've had, pole position and a race win so I'm delighted.

"As for my future I will wait until next week. There is talk of moving to the Worlds but I will wait until the season has finished there and then see where we are.

"I'm not sure if I will be moving somewhere else for next season, I think staying where I am would be a good thing to do."

Meanwhile fellow Hydrex Honda rider Tommy Hill set his sights on landing the title in 2010 after ending a disruptive season on a high.

Hill endured a rollercoaster season, starting in the World Superbike paddock before returning to the domestic circuit with Worx Crescent Suzuki, and finally ending the campaign with a hat-trick of rides for Sean Muir's Hydrex outfit.

The 24-year-old's third outing on the Honda proved his most successful to date with third, fourth and finally second-placed finishes.

And while Hill's whereabouts for 2010 are yet to be confirmed the Hydrex Honda rider is adamant he will be the man to beat in less than 12 months time.

"Roll on next year," said Hill -who finished 11th with 127 points.

"The aim is simple - build a relationship with a team and, if I can do that, then I will fight for the championship.

"The deals are on the table. I want to get into a good team and get into a good relationship for next year.

"I am talking to Suzuki and Honda and I want to fight again for 2010."
