A DRAMA OUT OF A CRISIS; Commentary.

Byline: Paul Sinclair

THE question isn't what does Russell stand for? It's why is he bothering to stand?

How can he lead a party when he hasn't been elected?

His candidacy is less to do with the SNP and more with the most public mid-life crisis in political history.

Friends first became concerned when he bought a sports car. Then gel appeared in his greying hair and he went public about his 'affair' with a researcher half his age who quickly dumped him.

Mike needs to be loved but neither his party nor the voters love him.

Now he is giving them one last opportunity to reject him. It will be humiliating.
