The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that 76 million cases of foodborne illness occur in the United States each year, but the exact number is not known because many victims do not seek medical are. When patients do go to the doctor, it is important that the correct diagnosis be made. The new Web site given above makes it easy to find clinical information. At the click of a mouse, health professionals can find information in one of three main sections:

1. Foodborne Illness (including a primer on diagnosis and fact sheets on agents that cause illness),

2. Resources for Your Patients, and

3. Medical Publications (including Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report and Emerging Infectious Diseases Journal).
