Byline: - Valerie Kuklenski

In this age of sensory overload

Sensory overload (sometimes abbreviated to SO) is a condition where one or more of the five senses are strained and it becomes difficult to focus on the task at hand.
and information glut See information overload. , who can keep track of all those dangling plot lines from last May's hit series? Here's where some shows returning tonight left off - a Cliff's Notes of cliffhangers, if you will.

--``Alias'' (8 p.m., ABC ABC

Major U.S. television network. It began when the expanding national radio network NBC split into the separate Red and Blue networks in 1928.
) The spy thriller series left off with Sydney (Jennifer Garner Jennifer Anne Garner[1] (born April 17, 1972) is an Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe- and SAG Award-winning American actress. She first became known for her role as CIA agent Sydney Bristow on TV's Alias. ) and her agent boyfriend (Michael Vartan) in a serious car crash, shortly after he disclosed to her that Michael Vaughn This article is about the fictional character in the TV program Alias. For the cricket player, see Michael Vaughan.

is not his real name. His sketchy past, and the fact that ``Vaughn'' is under investigation as a suspected double agent, may complicate her future as much as his, since she's carrying his baby. Yes, Baby Bennifer, Garner's offspring-to-be with husband Ben Affleck, is being incorporated in the new season.

--``Will & Grace'' (8:30 p.m., NBC NBC

Major U.S. commercial broadcasting company. It was formed in 1926 by RCA Corp., General Electric Co. (GE), and Westinghouse and was the first U.S. company to operate a broadcast network.
) Tonight's live production aside, ``Will & Grace'' fans will want to tune in to see what happens with Will's (Eric McCormack) strange new job working for Malcolm (Alec Baldwin), as well as Grace's (Debra Messing) romantic sparks with old boyfriend Tom (Eric Stoltz), who is now married. Now that Jack (Sean Hayes) and Karen (Megan Mullally) have their own talk show, it seems everybody but Karen is whispering about Stan, her husband who died (or did he?) during divorce proceedings two seasons ago.

--``Everwood'' (9 p.m., The WB) This series was reminding viewers of the biggest reason not to live in a small town: Everybody knows everybody else's personal business. Ephram (Gregory Smith) escaped that burden by moving to Europe, while Andy (Treat Williams) mulled over a job offer at a Chicago hospital (an ``ER'' crossover, perhaps?). But Nina (Stephanie Niznik) moved in with Jake (Scott Wolf), compelling Andy to make clear his feelings for her with a kiss.

--``Without a Trace'' (10 p.m., CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast. ) Paige (Anna Belknap) was seen sneaking out of her office just as an NYPD NYPD New York City Police Department (since 1845; New York City, NY, USA)

detective came calling for her. The FBI team learned the detective was an impostor, but did not know what he wanted with Paige or whether he found her. Turns out she's involved in a identity theft ring and has ties through it to a man on the terrorist watch list. Meanwhile, Viv (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) survived heart surgery, prompting Danny (Enrique Murciano) to remark to Martin (Eric Close) that at least the day was ending on an up note. Apparently he spoke too soon. The rear doors of the van in front of them opened, and two men in black jumped out and began firing at Danny and Martin's car.
