The Company further reported 2007 income before income taxes of $812,000, a $972,000 turnaround from the 2006 loss before income taxes of $160,000, and 2007 net income of $616,000, a $793,000 turnaround from the 2006 net loss of $177,000. Frank Dalene, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Hamptons Luxury Homes, said: "We instituted a number of steps in October 2006 and again in 2007 designed to bring about revenue and earnings growth, as we repositioned the Company. In addition to this, we also recognized that there was a possibility of some economic difficulties, although due to our expertise and the clientele we serve, we were less affected by these general conditions in comparison to other construction services companies due to the marketing efforts we undertook over the past 18 months and the market we serve in the Hamptons. The results for 2007 indicate that the foundation we laid is strong and, as a result, we believe the Company is positioned to continue to achieve further revenue and earnings growth in 2008." Dalene also noted that Hamptons Luxury Homes ended 2007 with working capital in excess of $910,000. "We are mindful of our financial condition and continue to look to strengthen our financial position so that we can remain focused on serving our clients and increasing revenues in future periods." The company also reported that it has a backlog of approximately $4 million as of December 31, 2007 and has $19 million of bids on future projects currently outstanding, a portion of which will be recognized within the next 12 months.
