Marnika does a superb job with his semi-voiced reading of this affecting, bittersweet bittersweet, name for two unrelated plants, belonging to different families, both fall-fruiting woody vines sometimes cultivated for their decorative scarlet berries. YA novel set in Australia, bringing the variety of characters brilliantly to life. The author's portrayals of the teenager Carl, ashamed of his size and feeling shunned by his peers, and the furious little Harley, so lacking in love and direction, are painfully universal.
