Miriam Toews Miriam Toews (pronounced tâves), (born 1964 in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada) is a Canadian writer of Mennonite descent. She grew up in Steinbach, Manitoba and has lived in Montreal and London, before settling in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
