A Band Apart Music Video Directors Sweep MTV Nominations; Rising Company Garners Nearly 25% of Nominations.LOS LOS Length of stay, see there ANGELES--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--July 29, 1999-- A Band Apart Music Video directors garnered 23 nominations for the 1999 MTV MTV in full Music Television U.S. cable television network, established in 1980 to present videos of musicians and singers performing new rock music. MTV won a wide following among rock-music fans worldwide and greatly affected the popular-music business. Music Video Awards, it was announced today by co-presidents Lawrence Bender (producer, Good Will Hunting, Pulp pulp: see paper. Fiction) and Michael Bodnarchek. Nearly 25% of MTV's honors went to the company, with Wayne Isham walking away with 13 nominations, Nigel Dick with six, McG receiving three nods and Darren Grant one. Since its formation only a year a half ago, A Band Apart Music Videos has risen to dominate MTV's playlist A file that contains an index to a selected group of music files on the computer. Using digital jukebox software such as iTunes and Winamp, playlists are created by the user by dragging and dropping titles from a master index. The software may be able to create a playlist automatically. . Under the leadership of executive producer Catherine Finkenstaedt and head of sales Kim DeLara, the company has created clips for such artist sensations as Ricky Martin, Backstreet backstreet Noun a street in a town far from the main roads Adjective denoting secret or illegal activities: a backstreet abortion backstreet n Boys and Will Smith. Two out of five nominations in the Video of the Year category went to Wayne Isham for Ricky Martin's cross-over hit "Livin' La Vida Loca" and the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" from the number one album Millennium. Isham has been the creative voice behind all of Martin's videos. Nigel Dick's work made its way into six categories, with his Britney Spears' debuter "Baby One More Time" earning a place in the Best Pop Video list and Cher's comeback Comeback Australian breed of wool sheep, bred by crossing Merino with Corriedale, Polwarth or Zenith sheep; wool is 21 to 25 microns. It is a registered breed, but the term is more commonly used in the sense of a type of sheep produced by crossbreeding a crossbred Merino back to Merino. hit "Believe" earning nods in the Best Dance Video arena. Star director McG's work for Offspring's "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" made the cut in the Best Rock Video category and Sugar Ray's "Every Morning" is competing for Best Group Video. Finally, rising talent Darren Grant directed Jordan Knight's solo debut "Give it to You," which is a contender for Best Dance Video.
