A BRUNCH OF BUGS.


Not everyone thinks having bugs for meals is such a bad idea. Insects and arachnids (spiders) are found on the menu in many different countries. Here is a sampling of those tasty treats:

The Piraroa Indians of Venezuela roast tarantulas over an open fire and eat them. They say spider meat tastes like nuts.

In the harsh outback of Australia, traveling Aborigines aborigines: see Australian aborigines.  have to settle for almost any kind of food. Raw wichety wood grubs make a nutritious nutritious /nu·tri·tious/ (noo-trish´us) affording nourishment.

 snack. They won't give you cavities, either.

You don't have to travel to the outback to eat a bug. Some of the fanciest candy stores in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  sell chocolate-covered ants. Other stores sell fried caterpillars. They don't have butterfly burgers, though.
