The collaboration of Disney animation and Pixar creative genius John Lasseter (acting as executive producer here) is a triumph. The opening action sequence, taken from Bolt's TV series, is exhilarating. But for belly laughs, nothing surpasses a brilliantly orchestrated break-in to an animal pound to rescue Mittens, which sees Rhino come into his own. Requisite lashings of Disney sentiment guarantee top-pedigree entertainment for the entire family, underscored with a message about the responsibilities that come with owning a four-legged friend. All that's missing is the eye-popping 3D version of the film, which screened in selected cinemas earlier this year.

Starring: Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Drew Barrymore, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scarlett Johansson.

MARY (Barrymore) has an array of caring men around her. Unfortunately they are all gay, co-workers on the Baltimore Blade newspaper, and she fares less well when it comes to forging connections with straight men.

Mary is friends with yoga instructor Anna (Johansson), who is stringing along real estate agent Conor (Connolly) but would rather be sharing the bed of businessman Ben (Cooper).

Unfortunately, he is married to Janine (Connelly), who works in the marketing department of a spice company with Beth (Aniston) and Gigi (Goodwin).

Beth is frustrated that long-term beau Neil (Affleck) refuses to go down on bended knee after seven years together. Meanwhile, Gigi ricochets from one disastrous date to the next, accepting advice from bar manager Alex (Long), who seems to have all the answers.

He's Just Not That Into You is a disappointingly familiar scrapbook of relationship highs and woes based on the book by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, culminating in the usual array of broken hearts, kisses and wedding vows.
