A "How-to" for Pro-Life Young People: Preparing the Way for Life to Triumph.


Decisions. Young people make them every day. Some are trivial TRIVIAL. Of small importance. Ch. 183; 4 Paige, 364.  (which outfit to wear), others chart the course of their lives (where to attend college, what values to embrace), and still others have the potential to make history.

To pro-lifers, it's the history-making decisions that matter most. . There is a place for every single young person in the pro-life movement.

Today's middle school, junior high, high school, and college students are the future of the pro-life movement. As a generation, they are preparing the way for a return to a time where life is respected, protected, and valued beyond measure. Polls show that they are overwhelmingly pro-life and experience tells us that they are passionate, articulate, and spectacular agents of change when they decide to make a difference.

It is our job as the adults who help shape their lives to educate, encourage, and provide opportunities for these future leaders Future Leaders is a UK schools-led charitable organisation that aims to widen the pool of talented leaders especially for urban challenging secondary schools. It was founded in March 2006 by Nat Wei, a former founder of Teach First.  to grow in their pro-life vocation.

Fortunately that is an easy task! Opportunities abound for young pro-lifers to hone their skills, amp up their enthusiasm and actively participate in saving lives. Some are seasonal and include:

The National Teens for Life Summit held every year around the March for Life in January. This year it is January 1820 in Crystal City, Virginia Crystal City is a neighborhood in the southeastern corner of Arlington County, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Just south of downtown Washington, Crystal City is centered along a stretch of Jefferson Davis Highway (U.S. , right outside Washington, D.C. Statewide oratory oratory, the art of swaying an audience by eloquent speech. In ancient Greece and Rome oratory was included under the term rhetoric, which meant the art of composing as well as delivering a speech.  contests which allow young people to express their pro-life views verballyand win prizes in the process! All of this is sponsored by the National Right to Life Committee The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) is a nonprofit organization that seeks to end legalized Abortion in the United States. The National Right to Life Academya six-week training program for college students who want to learn more about the history and strategy of the pro-life movement, along with in-depth information on the life issues, insights into the legislative process, tools for debating and presenting the issues, and more. This year's academy will be held from June 30August 9, 2008, in Washington, D.C. For more information or to register for the academy, visit www.nrlc.org.

Wisconsin Right to Life's Camps Esther (basic) and Nehemiah (advanced) offer junior high through college aged youth a chance to learn about the life issues in a fun camp atmosphere. The training covers the fundamentals of the fight for life and equips attendees to take the pro-life message back to their schools, churches, and communities. Regardless of where pro-life youth decide to focus their energy and talents, the bottom line is this: their involvement will save lives. It is really as simple as that. So please, if you know of young people in middle school through college who have a heart for the pro-life cause, please plug them in to one (or more!) of these resources.
