A/V Integrator's Grant Spurs Excitement for Technology in the Classroom.


MINNEAPOLIS -- Building on widespread success in the education arena, national audio/visual integrator (1) In electronics, a device that combines an input with a variable, such as time, and provides an analog output; for example, a watt-hour meter.

 Tierney Brothers, Inc. along with the Minnesota Service Cooperatives, will once again hold the Tierney Brothers Classroom of the Future technology grant competition, which invites K-12 schools in Minnesota and Wisconsin Wisconsin, state, United States
Wisconsin (wĭskŏn`sən, –sĭn), upper midwestern state of the United States. It is bounded by Lake Superior and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, from which it is divided by the Menominee
 to register for the chance to win high-tech tools for one of their classrooms.

The Classroom of the Future grant enables educators to enhance learning, while saving time and resources. A team of technology experts will visit the winning schools early in 2010 to plan for installation of the new technology suite, including:

In its fourth year, the first-of-its-kind contest was developed by Tierney Brothers to encourage excitement for classroom technology. Recent studies of classrooms worldwide found that in those using computer technologies, the students scored significantly better over time on tests and assessments. The Classroom of the Future enables educators to enhance learning, while reducing the time, efforts and resources involved in presenting, storing and sharing projects. In addition, students of all ages are drawn to integrated technology in the classroom--making learning more engaging, efficient and productive.

Full contest rules, schedules and online registration form are available at www.tierneybros.com/contest. One winner will be selected from Minnesota and one from Wisconsin. All Minnesota and Wisconsin public and private schools are encouraged to participate. The Tierney Brothers Classroom of the Future is supported by The Minnesota Service Cooperatives, Smart Technologies, Epson, Lumens, Crestron, Chief Manufacturing and SMK Link Electronics. All classrooms registering will receive a free SMK Link remote mouse/laser pointer pointer, breed of large sporting dog developed in England more than 300 years ago. It stands between 23 and 26 in. (58.4–66.4 cm) high at the shoulder and weighs between 50 and 60 lb (22.7–27.2 kg).  for their school. Minnesota winner will be announced at the TIES Tradeshow in Minneapolis on December 12th, 2009 and the Wisconsin winner at the Brainstorm tradeshow in Wisconsin Dells Wisconsin Dells may refer to:
