A&P TO REMOVE CIGARETTE VENDING MACHINES FROM ALL STORES.

:GAP) announced today that it will eliminate all cigarette vending machines vending machine, coin-operated, automatic device for selling goods. Many vending machines are capable of making change, and some of the more sophisticated ones accept paper money or credit cards.  from its retail stores by the end of this month.

This measure is the latest in a major campaign by A&P to reduce the availability of cigarettes to minors in its stores. Also underway are initiatives which include an age identification training videotape videotape
