(A&P), Montvale, NJ, today issued a precautionary pre·cau·tion·ar·y also pre·cau·tion·al adj. Of, relating to, or constituting a precaution: taking precautionary measures; gave precautionary advice. Adj. 1. bulletin specific to all customers who may have purchased fresh ground meat products in the Waldbaum's supermarket on Sunset Avenue in Westhampton, NY, dated for sale on August 26th. The Company asks that any such customer who still has product on hand return it to the store for a full refund. Waldbaum's is an operating division of A&P. the case is related to ground meat purchased in the Westhampton
Waldbaum's store, it was A&P management's decision to act
voluntarily and with utmost precaution on behalf of its customers. In
addition to today's public advisory, signs are being posted in the
Westhampton store, also requesting the immediate return of any such
remaining products.
The Company also reiterated to consumers in general the importance of safe handling, storage and preparation of fresh ground meat products; including proper refrigeration refrigeration, process for drawing heat from substances to lower their temperature, often for purposes of preservation. Refrigeration in its modern, portable form also depends on insulating materials that are thin yet effective. and/or freezing, and ensuring that products are fully cooked to prevent food-related illness.
