A&B Adds Real Estate Data On Its Internet Site.

Business Editors

HONOLULU--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 2000

Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. (Nasdaq:ALEX) today announced that it has added information and analytical features regarding its property development and management activities to its Internet site, www.alexanderbaldwin.com. The new section may be accessed by clicking on the link, "Property Development & Management," on its home page.

"For most investors, Hawaii represents an unfamiliar and unique real estate market," said James S. Andrasick, senior vice president and chief financial officer. "Many have told us that they need a better way to understand A&B's property holdings. With more than 90,000 acres of land and almost 5 million square feet of leased space in our portfolio, we certainly recognize the need for clear and concise information. This addition to our website allows investors to accomplish a number of tasks, ranging from quickly looking up statistical data on any one project to understanding more easily the breadth and distribution of A&B's extensive property development and management activities."

The Internet allows this information to be presented in an efficient, timely and dynamic format. In addition to compiling publicly available information about A&B's operations, the site also provides links to other, related sources of information about the economy of Hawaii and real estate values and activity in the relevant geographic areas.

"We hope that this addition will be useful to investors, and that they will share their reactions to its features with us by using the feedback option that also is part of the new section of the site," said Andrasick.

Alexander & Baldwin, Inc., headquartered in Honolulu, is engaged in ocean transportation through its subsidiary, Matson Navigation Company, Inc., in property development and management, through A&B Properties, Inc., and in food products, through Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company and Kauai Coffee Company, Inc.
