@Track Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:ATRK), a leading provider of wireless-based vehicle fleet management and intelligent mobile-asset-tracking solutions, today announced that its board of directors has approved an amendment to the company's certificate of incorporation changing the company's name to Minorplanet Systems USA, Inc., subject to approval by the company's stockholders, which the company expects to obtain within the next 60 days.

The board also voted to change the company's fiscal year end from Dec. 31 to Aug. 31, which is the fiscal year end of Minorplanet Systems PLC, @Track's majority shareholder. @Track will gain significant audit efficiencies with such a reporting change by avoiding the additional audits previously required because of Minorplanet's consolidation of @Track's financial results into its own results.
