@Link Networks Names Southwestern Division President; Telecom Industry Veteran Brings Experience to Drive Regional Growth.

Integrated communications provider @Link Networks, Inc. today announced that it has appointed Andy Buffington as the company's Southwestern Division President, marking the company's preparation to aggressively blanket tier one, two and three markets across the southwest in year 2000 with @Link's high-speed private networking and other broadband services for small- and medium-sized businesses.

As @Link's Southwestern Division President, Buffington will be responsible for @Link's Southwestern states, which includes Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. He will oversee the expansion and launch of @Link's next-generation private network technology in markets such as Dallas, Houston, St. Louis, Kansas City Kansas City, two adjacent cities of the same name, one (1990 pop. 149,767), seat of Wyandotte co., NE Kansas (inc. 1859), the other (1990 pop. 435,146), Clay, Jackson, and Platte counties, NW Mo. (inc. 1850). , Little Rock and Oklahoma City. He will maintain full responsibility for sales and operations in the Southwestern Division.

Buffington joins @Link from DSI (Dynamic Systems Initiative) An umbrella term for a suite of Microsoft products that help manage the Windows environment in large enterprises. In his role as leader of that company's operations group, he established the processes and procedures for provisioning, customer service and information systems in a 32-market deployment of a VoIP ATM Network.

@Link's aggressive deployment plan includes servicing markets in 14 states by the end of 2000. Other states in which @Link is deploying its technology in the near future include, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Michigan and Ohio. @Link recently launched services in the Chicago, Indianapolis and Milwaukee regional markets, and has targeted the Detroit area as the site of the next network deployment.

Among Buffington's first measures to generate awareness of @Link was securing exclusive sponsorship of the 27th Annual @Link Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Games, which took place June 24 at The Ballpark in Arlington, Texas.

Buffington received his B.S. and M.B.A. from Texas State University at Southwest Texas. He was one of the co-founders of the University Bobcat bobcat: see lynx.
