@Backup Signs Jato Communications to Authorized Partners Program; DSL Broadband Services Provider Will Resell Individual Licenses For Online Backup and Remote Access Service.


SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 9, 1999--

@Backup, the leading provider of online information protection and access for small businesses and home computer users, announced an agreement with Jato Communications, a Denver-based provider of high-speed Internet See broadband.  access and applications, to resell licenses for the @Backup service.

Jato is the first company to take part in @Backup's new Authorized Partners Program, announced at ISPCON ISPCON Internet Service Provider Convention (The Golden Group, Inc.)  Fall '99, which allows network providers, ISPs and ASPs to purchase blocks of @Backup licenses and sell them directly to end users. Authorized Partners can buy blocks of licenses to resell individually to their customers. Jato has purchased an undisclosed amount of licenses at this time, and @Backup will author, host and maintain a co-branded web site where Jato customers can download the @Backup service.

@Backup Announces New Distribution Agreements

The Jato agreement and new Authorized Partners Program illustrate how @Backup intends to generate tens of millions of new customers in the next year. To that same end, @Backup has existing distribution agreements with Dell and Toshiba and, last month, announced agreements with Intuit and OfficeMax. The company will announce additional agreements with online service providers, PC manufacturers and software publishers in months to come.
