999 search after lad, 13 swept in sea; EMERGENCY.


A BOY of 13 swept off a pier and into the sea was being frantically searched for last night.

Two helicopters and three lifeboats were summoned after the alarm was raised at around 6.30pm.

But a Coastguard spokesman admitted fears were growing and said:"The search has been going on for over three hours and there's no sign of him.

"Survivability sur·viv·a·ble

The teenager was with pals when waves carried him into the water in Porthcawl, South Wales South Wales south nsud m du Pays de Galles .

Some threw a lifebelt but he could not reach it.

The sea was described as moderate to rough with a higher than average tide.
