) (the "Company") today named 99 years young Arthur Winston Arthur Winston (March 22 1906 – April 13 2006) was a Los Angeles Metro employee for 72 years. He is best known for being honored as the "Employee of the Century" due to the fact that he was never late to work and only took one day off during his entire career.  as its honorary spokesperson. Mr. Winston retired today after 76 years with the Los Angeles County MTA (1) (Message Transfer Agent or Mail Transfer Agent) The store and forward part of a messaging system. See messaging system.

Arthur Winston received a congressional citation in 1997 from then President Clinton as "Employee of the Century." Over his 76-year career, Mr. Winston only missed one day of work. That day was for his wife's funeral in 1988. Mr. Winston attributes his health and longevity to not smoking, not drinking and not being in debt.
