95 pc wheat purchase achieved in Multan.


MULTAN, June 04, 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Food department Multan division Multan Division was an administrative division of the Punjab Province of Pakistan, until the reforms of 2000 abolished the third tier of government.

In view of the shortage of empty bags the farmers have been allowed to bring their commodity in their own bags, whose price is paid at the time of arrival of the grain, he said The district-wise procurement and revised target is as under: Multan 3,28,259 tons (against target of 3,50,000 tons), Khanewal 2,65,730 tons (target 2,80,000 tons), Lodhran 1,54,155 tons (target 1,70,000 tons), Vehari 2,22,295 tons (target 2,45,000 tons), Pakpattan 1,50,245 tons (target 1,50,000 tons) and Sahiwal 2,83,640 tons (target 3,00,000 tons). The official hoped that the target would be achieved within the next couple of weeks.
