92.5 XTU Kicks Weekend Lineup into High Gear With NASCAR Racing.Entertainment Editors PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 11, 2004 92.5 XTU XTU - All Transceiver Units, Philly's country radio station, announced that beginning this Sunday, February 15th, it will begin airing live NASCAR races in full digital HD Radio In-Band On-Channel (IBOC) HD Radio transmits the digital channels in unused portions of the same AM and FM channel. Because the IBOC method uses the same channels, radio stations can add the digital technology with relative ease. In comparison, deploying digital TV (DTV) is a far more costly and time-consuming venture. History iBiquity was formed in 2000 as a merger of Lucent spinoff Lucent Digital Radio and USA Digital Radio.(TM) on weekend afternoons. The broadcasts will kick off with coverage of the 46th annual Daytona 500 this Sunday beginning at 12:45 p.m. and will continue most weekends through the 2004 NASCAR season finale in November. Throughout the year, XTU plans to air complete coverage of all 36 NASCAR Nextel Cup events. The only source for NASCAR race radio broadcasts in Philadelphia, XTU broadcasts will feature leading commentary from MRN hosts and live lap-by-lap coverage of breaking developments.
