911Notify LLC today announced a new telecommunications service dedicated to helping people connect in times of emergency.

The company's flagship service, NotifyNow!(TM), will be offered by Verizon to their residential customers in Florida beginning today. The patented service will be offered to Verizon's California customers in the coming months. NotifyNow! is a service that automatically alerts family and friends when a 9-1-1 call is placed from a customer's home.

Under the terms of the agreement, 911Notify will provision the NotifyNow! service, and Verizon will offer the service to its residential customers.

911Notify's first customer for its NotifyNow! service is Verizon, the largest provider of telecommunications services in the United States. Verizon will offer the service to its residential customers in Florida initially, then to its California customers in the coming months.

Team 911Notify is chaired by Lodwrick Cook, co-chairman of Global Crossing Ltd. and former chairman of the Atlantic Richfield Co. (ARCO).

Cook chairs a seasoned management team with experience in telecommunications, public safety and the emergency-number arena. Angelo Salvucci, M.D., vice president of research, also serves as the chair of the California State Commission on Emergency Medical Services and has more than 20 years of experience in emergency medicine. Vice president of industry relations, Leah Senitte, was the 9-1-1 program manager for the state of California for 15 years, and is the immediate past president of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA).
