The planting will give the town a carpet of colour when they spring into bloom next year. Council officials are planting more than 700,000 purple crocus, 178,000 yellow daffodils and nearly 3,000 snowdrops. And they are using a planting machine specially shipped from Holland which is being used by many local authorities.
