Ninety home care workers from Links2Care, a non-profit home support agency, voted to become members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE, French: Syndicat canadien de la fonction publique) is a Canadian trade union serving the public sector - although it has in recent years organized workplaces in the non-profit and para-public sector as well. .

The agency provides support and care to seniors and disabled people in their homes. It also offers community support programs, children's programs and youth programs in the Regional Municipality of Halton, Ontario The Regional Municipality of Halton, or Halton Region, (2006 Population 439,526) is a regional municipality located in Ontario, Canada in the southwest part of the Greater Toronto Area and until 1974 was known as Halton County. , including the communities of Oakville Oakville, town (1991 pop. 114,670), Ont., Canada, on Lake Ontario, between Toronto and Hamilton. A major component of the local economy is the Ford Motor Co plant, one of the largest auto plants in Canada. , Georgetown, Acton and Glen Williams.
