9-axis swiss turning.

The Tsugami BU12SY and BU20SY are high precision swiss-type CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) See numerical control.

for the BU20SY. The machine's tool mounting arrangement provides 0.2 sec tool indexing on rear turret and near instant front gangster slide traverse allow short cutting cycles. Use of an 8-station, 2-axis rear turret on independent slides and 2-axis, 7-station front gang slide allows for a large complement of single or double OD toolholders and single or double ID toolholders to stay resident on board. The turrets use single, double, or quadruple ID, OD, and driven tools on four of the eight turret stations. The BU12SY has bar capacity of up to 1/2" and the BU20SY has 3/4" bar capacity. High efficiency toggle To alternate back and forth between two states.

toggle - To change a bit from whatever state it is in to the other state; to change from 1 to 0 or from 0 to 1. This comes from "toggle switches", such as standard light switches, though the word "toggle" actually refers to

The motor and mechanism that moves the head assembly on a disk drive or an arm of a robot is called an actuator. See access arm.  reduces cycle time and eliminates expensive chucks and actuators. The term is applied commonly to the study of the mechanical properties of water, other liquids, and even gases when the effects of compressibility are small.  improves thermal stability.
