9 HURT IN BUS CRASH.


NINE British tourists were hurt yesterday when their bus slid into a ditch ditch (ditching),
n the undesirable loss of tooth substance in the region of a restoration margin (usually gingival).
 after hitting a truck on a winding mountain road.

Two of the 42 passengers were taken to hospital. One has a broken spine but both are said to be in a "satisfactory" condition.

The holidaymakers had been heading for the resort of Zakopane Zakopane (zäkôpä`nĕ), town (1992 est. pop. 28,600), Małopolskie prov., S Poland, at the foot of the Tatra Mts. A leading health resort and winter sports center, Zakopane was the site of the world skiing championship  in southern Poland on a trip organised by Shearings Holidays, of Wigan Wigan (wĭg`ən), city (1991 pop. 88,725) and metropolitan district, N England, located in the Manchester metropolitan area on the Douglas River. .

Boss John Slatcher said: "The coach was returning to the hotel after an excursion excursion /ex·cur·sion/ (eks-kur´zhun) a range of movement regularly repeated in performance of a function, e.g., excursion of the jaws in mastication. ."
